Scania G340 biogas: features and advantages
The biogas-powered Scania G340 tractor is equipped with a 340 HP Euro 6 5-cylinder in-line engine and a load capacity of 13 tonnes. Thanks to the use of this new technology, the company will be able to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and contribute to the fight against climate change.
What is biogas
Biogas is a renewable energy source obtained from the fermentation of organic waste, such as agricultural residues, food waste and sewage sludge. This process occurs under controlled conditions, such as in biodigesters, where microorganisms decompose organic matter without the presence of oxygen.
Biogas is considered a low environmental impact fuel because during its combustion it releases fewer greenhouse gases than traditional fossil fuels such as oil and coal.
Werent's commitment to the environment
Werent has always been committed to minimizing its environmental impact, thanks to a wide range of electric vehicles in its fleet. The introduction of this new tractor further highlights this commitment: using biogas as a fuel, in fact, represents an excellent solution for the disposal of organic waste and for the production of clean energy, thus contributing to the sustainable management of waste.
